INTERMUSE – Intercultural Education through Museums

INTERMUSE project started from the idea that museums represent valuable resources for intercultural education but innovative methodologies need to be developed to increase motivation for learning, particularly among upper-secondary school pupils. The aim of the project was to stimulate pupils’ active involvement in intercultural learning and their reflection on sensitive and complex issues regarding cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, by engaging them in the design of computer games in the framework of school-museum cooperation.

EUROPEP – Priority Education Policies in Europe

Through EUROPEP Project a comparative study was conducted on priority education policies in eight European countries, selected based on the diversity of their education system: UK, Belgium, France, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania and Sweden.

Actions against inequalities, exclusion, dropout, as well as the efficiency and equity of public policies were the main focus of the study.

International Congress for Intercultural Research

In 2007 the Intercultural Institute of Timisoara organised the 11th Congress of the organisation Association pour la Recherche Interculturelle (ARIC), gathering in Timisoara over 150 researchers from Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia. The Congress was entitled: Territories, Limits, Crossings. Interculturality in Movement and allowed the presentation of researches from diverse disciplines such as: psychology, sociology, linguistics, education, anthropology, law, etc.

EDE – Education through Diversity in Europe

This project was an action research developed in a partnership between researchers, teachers and educators from eight countries of the European Union with the aim to study the conditions and the possibility of education through diversity. Diversity is a richness that needs to be cultivated in order to open the perspectives of teachers and students in order to deconstruct stereotypes and prejudices.

European Partnership for Safer Schools through Education for Democratic Citizenship

The aim of this project was to develop teachers’ competences to implement democratic citizenship education programmes to prevent and reduce violence in schools and to identify the obstacles that prevent schools and teachers to implement such programs. The project offered schools around Europe the opportunity to adopt and adapt the European Charter for Democratic Schools

Tools for Intercultural Education

The aim of the project was to put together various experiences and competences in order to achieve an exchange of good practices, to test the didactic materials and methodologies developed in different contexts and to produce new didactic materials. The main methodology was based upon the use of audio-visual support.
